The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system supports quality, accessibility, affordability, and inclusivity in licensed child care. It was initiated and funded by the Government of Canada and CWELCC is a five-year plan to reduce the cost of child care to an average of $10 per day by 2026.

We are working with the Province of Ontario to implement this program for families with eligible-aged children.

Fee Subsidy

Fee subsidy helps to make childcare more affordable for families in need. The District Municipality of Muskoka offers fee subsidy for low to modest income families in Muskoka by paying some or all of the cost of child care directly to the child care provider. This program is available to families:

• Who are working;
• Going to school; or
• Who have a child with demonstrated special needs.

Wait List

NOTE: part-time care is limited to 3 days/week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), or 2 days/week (Tuesday and Thursday).

Children of any age (0-4) are permitted to go on the wait list (even if they aren’t of age to join program yet).
